Pablo Valle and Tresor de Varende, victorious in a tight duel of Spaniards on the podium

Pablo Valle and Tresor de Varende proved this afternoon their skill by accomplishing to overcome the Marqués de Riscal Trophy, in the 1.40 meter class of the CSI2 * held this weekend in La Coruña, followed by the CSI5 * -W. The young rider of Alcobendas completed the course without penalty in a time of 54.88 seconds and snatched the provisional leader´s position from Gonzalo Añon. Gonzalo, a local rider, received a loud applause from the stands to be the first to score 56.19 seconds with his horse Elisa van de Helle. Another rider the crowd in Casas Novas just loved as well as for Diego Ramos Maneiro, a rider from La Coruña who was left without a place in the podium at the last moment. Alex Codina came second with a very good performance.
 
Valle, a member of the Spanish team that won the European Junior Championships held in Holland last summer, also stepped on the podium earlier this month at IFEMA Madrid Horse Week, where he achieved third place in the 1.25 meter 2* class. This afternoon, he was the first to overcome Gonzalo Añón from the first place which he achieved with 56.19 seconds. Behind Gonzalo, Diego Ramos with Gina-Unlimited who were third after Pablo's performance.
 
There were about 40 entries left when Valle was placed at the top of the table. Many insisted on challenging their time, but it was an impossible mission. Even so, the competition left great moments such as the performance of Álex Codina, who in the final round went to the second table with Cruising Star in 55.55 seconds. And there was still time for Íñigo López de la Osa, who managed to climb to fourth place with his 56.78 seconds riding Sultan de Beaufour.
 
Finally, 7 Spanish pairs were among the top 13 positions, which are those that had cash prizes for a joint value of more than 9,000 euros.
 
 LONGINES TROPHY, FIRST TEST WITH A JUMP OFF AND SENSORMATIC TROPHY
 
Ending this Saturday reserves one of the most important events of the CSI5 * -W / 2 * in La Coruña, the Longines Trophy. A wide representation of the best riders in the world, along with their impressive horses, will defy time on a circuit filled with obstacles of 1.60 meters high. In total, 37 pairs from a dozen countries in Liza with a special incentive for the Spaniards since, regardless of their classification, whoever is the highest ranked will receive the Sensormatic Trophy. The competition will begin at 20:30 and close to the tiebreaker.
