Jaclyn Duff surprises and wins the CaixaBank Grand Prix in A Coruña
JACLYN DUFF SURPRISES AND WINS THE CAIXABANK GRAND PRIX OF THE CSI4* A CORUÑA
A determined Jaclyn Duff proclaimed herself winner of the CaixaBank Grand Prix. The Canadian, who had already been the first to finish the First Round without fault, was able to resist the pressure and faced a final course with an amazing time of 44.23 seconds. And that earned the 30-year-old rider her first International Grand Prix of 4*, after competing in Knokke and Calgary.
Second place for Olivier Robert and Eros, who endured the pressure of being the last binomial of the Second Round and finished in 45.31 seconds. And applauded with excitement by the Galician public, the Spanish Julio Arias took the third place, with 48.48 seconds, which also gave him the Tyco Trophy to the best Spanish rider qualified in this class. These three were the only ones that were able to finish without fault in both rounds.
THREE SPANISH RIDERS CLASSIFIED FOR THE SECOND ROUND
Few riders were able to finish the first course without fault. Even Epaillard knocked down after dominating the entire morning. But he managed to enter the Second Round, as did his compatriot Cheronnet who also qualified with 4 points, this being his first knockdown in the whole show. Two Spanish riders did not fail: Diego Pérez Bilbao and Julio Arias, who qualified without fault for the Second Round with Asis Arango Lasaosa, who had 2 points for exceeding the time granted. Alongside them, the Belgian Mathy, the French Robert and the Dutchman van der Vleuten also competed in this round

THREE TRIUMPHS FOR CANADA IN A VERY INTERNATIONAL SHOW
Very excited, Jaclyn Duff picked up her trophy while Canada's anthem was playing for the third time in Casas Novas: Friday with Tiffany Foster in the NH Collection Trophy, and Saturday with the victory of Yann Candele in the Longines Trophy. However, the distribution of trophies has been very international in this edition of the CSI4* A Coruña: France, with four trophies, four second places and three thirds; Spain and Portugal raised one trophy each. They also had one second place each and, four third places for Spain, and one Portuguese. Completing the list, Belgium with two second places and a third, and Holland, with a second place.
