“Beauville Z NOP” and “King Edward”, the “top”, face to face
The CSI 5*W A Coruña will be the main stage where the two horses in the best form of the moment will face each other.
The Casas Novas track will be the stage this Sunday for the performance of the two top pairs on the international circuit. Henrik Von Eckermann with “King Edward” and Maikel Van der Vleuten with “Beauville Z N.O.P.”, lead the FEI Ranking of teams and will attract the attention of the equestrian lovers present at the Coruña venue.
Being the leader of the Longines FEI Ranking is complicated, unless your name is Henrik Von Eckerman, the Swede has been leading the ranking for 29 months, which has allowed him to equal the record held by Ludger Beerbaum. A spectacular career that he shares with a great “culprit”: the BWP, “King Edward”. The Belgian chestnut, who will be 15 years old in 2025, has been a prodigy in high competition for several seasons, dazzling with his ease in jumping, always well above the bars.
This impressive duo also leads the FEI ranking of teams with 1,690 points, despite not having competed since last October 20th, at the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix in Rabat, so their performance in Casas Novas is causing great excitement among fans of this sport.
Hot on their heels in the FEI team ranking table are Maikel Van der Vleuten and “Beauville Z N.O.P.”, with 1,416 points. A team that stands out for its consistency in high-level tests and is destined to make history in world equestrian sports. History in which they have already written incredible chapters, maintaining a 57% success rate in their outings on the track.
Both teams face each other today in Casas Novas, a venue more than prepared for a confrontation of this level. The indoor track of the Coruña equestrian complex will be the main stage for this great duel of number ones, in the Casas Novas Longines World Cup Grand Prix.
