Spooner Wins The Nh Hotel Trophy
Richard Spooner went out to the arena in the jump-off with a lot of strength together with other 15 riders from the 38 riders and horses taking part on the Class.
Californian confessed that after 30 years in this world he considers really important to be in touch with horses daily: "They give you everything to make you happy; they give us their lives for our pleasure. After: the horse is a horse every day. If you have a bad day and you visit the horses, you forget about it because whatever happens to you doesn’t mean anything for them. They don’t care if you are rich or poor, attractive or not,… they look deeply in your heart to see what kind of person you are and then they come closer to you", explains the rider.
Spanish Eduardo Alvarez Aznar got first in the first round with his horse Rico Revel leaving behind riders as Steve Guerdat, world champion Philippe Le Jeune or the Trofeo Warsteiner winner Katharine Offel.
Spooner’s speed mark with 40,90 seconds was clearly really difficult to improve in the most difficult Trophy until now with 1,50 meters high. Second position was for Dutch Harrie Smolders with 41,93 seconds and the third place was for the well-known French rider Michel Robert with a course speed of 41,98 seconds.
Spanish Jesus Garmendia finished fourth and the Swiss Steve Guerdat got fifth position with this horse Carpalo.
