Riders Test The Competition Arena The Previous Day To CSI5* Opening
Everything is ready for the start of the XXV International Jumping Show 5* A Coruña. The city is welcoming these days the most talented riders and horses of the World in the most important Equestrian Competition taking place in Spain during December.
Thursday has been the day for free training, riders have test to the competition arena and horses have undergone to Veterinary Inspection. Along the morning it has been possible to see participants riding at the same course where tomorrow is going to take place the CSI 5*/2* Casas Novas. The covered arena was the meeting point for most riders and horses that have taken advantage of their first journey at the Center to train.
All 169 horses have passed the Veterinarian Inspection on Thursday afternoon, a test which states their perfect physical state in order to compete at this high level sports event. Furthermore, animals have to be perfectly identified with all papers in order. After that, most of the riders, both national and international who have traveled first time in the morning to Galicia, wanted to gallop a little with their horses.
CSI 5* A CORUÑA STARTS ON FRIDAY AFTERNOON WITH TWO CLASSES
First day at International Jumping Show A Coruña starts with four classes that will be distributed along the day at Casas Novas.
CSI 2* starts on Friday December 14th with two competitions taking place in the morning. The day starts with the Opening Trophy at 12:00 with highest obstacle being stated at 1,30 m and under the A against the clock category.
Right after, it will take place the Mostoles Industrial Competition at 15:15, a 2 phases class with obstacles at 1,40 meters. Course is divided in two parts and just the horses that haven’t done any fault in the first phase could jump in the second one. Winners would be the ones who could make less number of points using less time in the second phase.
Friday evening at 5.30 pm will take place the Warsteiner Class, first one 5* level which is the highest level in the equestrian world according to FEI rankings. This time, competition will go under table A against the clock and 1,45 obstacles height. Winner will be the one who takes no more than the time established for each obstacle as well as makes the track in less time.
Last class of the day will be the NH Hotels Trophy at 8.30 pm, the most difficult of the day with obstacles getting to 1,50 meters being a Table A against the clock with one jump-off, which gives more excitement to the audience. It’s a mix class when riders equally classified for the first place will compete against the clock in a second round. Speed is the key for getting into the top if not faults are made.
