More than 15 countries will be represented at the CSI4* A Coruña
The Casas Novas Equestrian Centre will host from Friday 24 to Sunday 26 the thirteenth edition of the International Show Jumping of A Coruña. Riders from 17 countries will compete in the outdoor arena of Casas Novas, including several pairs who have taken part in the Furusiya FEI Nations Cup and who will be in Aachen.
One of the main objectives of the European Championship that will be held in Aachen from 11 to 23 August, is to qualify for the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro in 2016, something that Spain has failed in the last three editions disputed in Athens, Beijing and London. Although the list of members who will attend has not been confirmed yet, several of the riders who participated in the Nations Cup of the first division, will jump in Casas Novas. Among them are Sergio Alvarez Moya, Eduardo Alvarez Aznar and Manuel Fernandez Saro. Also will jump some members of the team in the Nations Cup second level, as Ivan Serrano, Gerardo Menendez or Laura Roquet.
Over 60 riders and 160 horses will come to Casas Novas. They are coming from Argentina, Egypt, Chile, Brazil, Canada, Mexico and the USA, among others, and will compete for three days in front of the Galician public offering another chance to see up close the great figures. Among them is the Dutch Leopold Van Asten, who made history last year by becoming the only rider able to win the Grand Prix outdoor and indoor the same year; Belgian Pieter Devos, Egyptian Karim El Zogbhy and several Grand Prix winners from previous editions: the Chilean Tomas Couve in 2000, Frenchman Julien Epaillard in 2006 or the Spanish Sergio Alvarez Moya in 2012.
Several national and international chains will broadcast the most important tests: Longines Trophy and the Grand Prix CaixaBank. These include Teledeporte, TV Galicia, Equidia or Class Horse TV. Also, the tests may be followed live on the website of Casas Novas (www.csicasasnovas.com) and Oxer Sport (www.oxersport.com).
