All set to start the CSI 4* A Coruña

As usual at this time, Casas Novas begins to finalize preparations for the celebration of the XXX summer competition from 24 to 26 July. The best riders of the national and international scene will take part in nine tets scheduled, of which six scored for Longines FEI Ranking. Regarding the national scene, 4 of the top 5 national ranking riders will take part in the competition. Among them are Sergio Álvarez Moya, Eduardo Álvarez Aznar, Manuel Fernández Saro and Iván Serrano. Sergio Alvarez Moya, current leader of the national ranking and 34th in the world, will compete in the most important tests with Red Star d'Argent, horse sat in his stall a few months ago. And, although the list of members who will attend the European Championship has not been confirmed yet, they will try to prepare the best possible way ahead of their participation in the Championship and in order to get qualified for the Olympics of Rio de Janeiro in 2016. In addition, several young riders will compete in Casas Novas with view to prepare the European Junior Championships that will be held in Austria from 10 to 16 August. Among them are two members of the junior team: Paloma Barcelo, team silver in the Spanish Championship, and Carlos Lange, individual bronze regarding the team of young riders, Alvaro Sanchez Arcilla and Jose Fumero will be also in Coruña and are possible candidates to represent Spain in this category. Regarding the international riders, the XXX edition will feature the participation of Leopold van Asten, winner of Grand Prix of winter and summer last year, something that no rider had managed to achieve beforeItaly will be represented by 3 riders: Emanuele Gaudiano, winner of several tests in the LGCT of Estoril and Monaco with the same horses that will compete in Coruna, Admara and Cocoshinsky; Luca Maria Moneta, ranked among the top 3 in more than 15 international tests this season; and Lorenzo de Luca. The Belgian Pieter Devos, Egyptian Karim El Zogbhy, the Irish Conor Swail (Longines Trophy winner last year) and the French Julien Epaillard and Michel Hecart are some of the riders who also will jump. Notably, several of the riders who come to compete this year have previously won the Grand Prix of A Coruna. The Chilean Tomas Couve in 2000, the French Julien Epaillard in 2006, Henk van de Pol in 2008, the Spanish Sergio Alvarez Moya in 2012. They will try to win the CaixaBank Grand Prix that will be held on Sunday at 17h00.
