It is located on a large farm in Larin, Arteixo (A Coruña) with an area of 30 hectares. Since its beginnings, Casas Novas has run a riding school which aims to promote and offer sport to children. It also organizes a Sectional League. Riders from Galicia, Asturias and other nearby regions have the opportunity to compete in the top-level facilities of Casas Novas: three outdoor arenas, two indoor arenas, a galloping track and more than 230 top-level boxes. CSI A Coruña was founded in 2000 as a result of the creation of the Casas Novas Equestrian Centre. After the success of the 2001 edition, it was necessary to expand the facilities of the site. Casas Novas has grown since its beginning, with the aim of promoting the equestrian culture of the region. Thus, due to the rapid international recognition, it has been holding two annual editions: an indoor one in December, and an outdoor one in July. Olympic riders such as German Ludger Beerbaum, French Michel Robert or Dutch Gerco Schröder, are just a few of the great riders listed in the record book as winners of the Grand Prix CSI A Coruña. Along with many other international equestrian stars, they have moved the audiences at Casas Novas over the past 27 editions. From 25 to 27 July 2014, the elite horse riders will meet again in the Spanish equestrian center to offer the best horse show of A Coruña ever.
