CSI 4* A Coruña Kicks Off

Again this year, CSI**** A Coruña brought the show jumping to Casas Novas, to the delight of fans who attended the opening day of the event. The competition began at 12.00 h with the Inaugural Challenge, and continued until the evening with NH Hotels and Azkar trophies. TROPHY AZKAR The first day of CSI4* A Coruña has ended with Azkar Trophy. 19 pairs has been classified to the jump off, and 14 could finish clear round again. The winner has been the Italian Juan Carlos García riding Moka de Mescam with a time of 43,14 seconds. Very close was the brasilian Pedro Veniss. Less than 0,5 seconds brought him to the second place with Amemoi O Sandor. The german David Will, with Lesthago , has achieved the third place with a time of 43,70 seconds. Birgit Kastner – Simon, Corporate Director of Marketing of Dascher has given the trophy to the winner. THE SPANISH ANTHEM RINGS AT THE NH HOTELS TROPHY The Spaniard Pilar Cordón has taken the victory at the NH Hotels Trophy, second class of the day with obstacles of a height of 1.50 m. With her horse Coriana Van Klapscheut, Pilar has completed the course in a time of 59.01 seconds, showing why she is a strong candidate for representing Spain in the World Equestrian Games in Normandy (France) the next month. The second place was for the Italian Giulia Martinego, who stopped the clock in 60.73 seconds with her horse Fixdisegn Pop Lady D’Elle. The pair formed by the rider from Qatar Khalid Mohammed Al Emadi and his horse Tamira IV has finished the NH Hotels Trophy in third position, improving the fourth that he achieved on the previous test and confirming his good momentum. LAURA RENWICK WINS THE OPENING TROPHY AT CSI 4* CASAS NOVAS The rider from Great Britain Laura Renwick and her horse Beluga have taken the victory in the first trophy of the day in Casas Novas, with a time of 26.35 seconds and no penalties. Renwick opened the competition with an incredible performance over her rivals that lead her to the win. The second place was for the couple formed by the French Julien Epaillard and his horse Sephora Sozeenne, with a time of 27.08 seconds. Ibrahim Hani Bisharat from Jordan and Khalid Mohammed Al Emadi from Qatar were third and fourth respectively. SCHEDULE FOR TOMORROW Tests will begin on Saturday at 12.00 h with Porsche Challenge, which acts as the official vehicle of the contest. Later, at 15.00 h, the La Caixa Trophy will be played. Finally, starting at 18.00 h, the Longines Challenge will be held as the most important test of the day, consisting of two rounds. In the first one all participants will take part, but in the second only 25% of them will be able to access in the next qualification. Besides, there will be an additional award called the Marqués de Riscal Trophy, for the best Spanish rider. Between the second and the third test, at 17.15 h, there will be also a jazz event sponsored by Estrella Galicia and entitled Small Great Moments 1906, in which we will enjoy the music of Hot Chocolates.
