Kevin González de Zárate shows his top form and conquers the Tyco Grand Prix
Kevin González de Zárate reigned Spanish supreme at the CSI2* held this last weekend in Casas Novas, and took the Grand Prix Tyco in the jump-off. The Basque rider was the last out in a decisive round disputed by the only six pairs qualifying for the final jump-off out of the fifty ones which took part in the test. He had the challenge of being faster than the 32.30 seconds set by the French Maelle Martin, and a quick and more accurate round on the gelding Urbain des Grezils made it possible: 31.51 seconds was the winner time. The podium was shared by the British Deborah Jackson, who was the first to score 0 in a hotly jump-off: 32.74 seconds on Winning Girl Z.
Paloma Barceló, who captured yesterday’s victory of the NH Collection Thophy and second place in the Marqués de Riscal Trophy, also managed to ride a perfect round with a time of 35.25 seconds aboard Inés, which led her to fourth place. Neither Xavier Cebriá nor Gonzalo Añón, who became part of the top six that battled it out for the leading award, managed to ride a penalty-free round.
