Galician rider Javier Gonzalez Fraga, stellar in the closing ceremony
The last two classes of the CSI1* A Coruña, which occupied the morning program of the closing day in Casas Novas, had a star figure: Javier González Fraga.
He is in top form and his sporting morale is sky high and that has led him to be the winner of 50% of the tests of the CSI1* A Coruña. Of the six that made up the program of the three days of competition, three have been for Javier González Fraga, who put the rubric with a vibrant ride in the tiebreaker of the Grand Prix Leblond Lenoir (1'40 meters).
A tie-breaker that was disputed by seven riders and in which four of them repeated the zero. A fast ride by Jesús Torres with "Kannantos" placed the Seville rider at the top of the provisional classification with a time of 41'52 seconds, but immediately after, González Fraga pulverized his record, stopping the stopwatch with "Tik Tak de Pravia" in 39'36. The rider from A Coruña consummated his third consecutive victory with his 11-year-old sorrel CDE in a competition that will be unforgettable for him and for all the fans, especially the Galician ones.
The third place went to the American Camilla Siekmann with "Ground Breaker", who also did zero in 43'16 and the fourth place to the Chilean rider living in Madrid, Jacinta Errazuriz, riding "Caporal D'Elle", a horse that knows very well the Casas Novas track, having competed for many years with the local rider, Jesús Bamonde.
In fifth position was Alejandro Entrecanales, who with "Banzai de Semilly" completed his course in exactly the same time as the winner, but committed a knockdown.
The Leblond Lenoir Trophy was presented to Javier González Fraga by Enrique Mateo Ortuño, CEO of Mateo Wines, on behalf of Leblond Lenoir champagne.
