Casas Novas, a place with a lot of history
This weekend 5 riders who already know what it's like to win the Grand Prix of the winter edition will be competing
The history of Casas Novas is a history with a long tradition. In the year 2000, the first International Show Jumping Competition was held in a recently inaugurated equestrian centre. Twenty-two years later, the Casas Novas venue is a reference point and annually attracts enthusiasts from Galicia and all corners of the world who are looking to enjoy the best of sports.
Throughout its existence, Casas Novas has hosted the best riders and horsewomen of the national and international scene. True legends of the sport have participated, competed and proved their worth at this venue.
In this edition of the CSI5*W Casas Novas, those who come to the venue will be able to enjoy the participation of riders with a lot of weight in the equestrian world and who already know what it means to win the Casas Novas Grand Prix in its winter edition. Among them we can find the German Ludger Beerbaum, winner of the competition in 2009; the Spanish Jesús Garmendia and Sergio Álvarez Moya; winners in 2009 and 2012 respectively; the Belgian Grégory Wathelet; winner in 2013; and the Dutch Maikel Van der Vleuten, who won in 2019.
