Ismael García Roque sentenció el trofeo Engel&Völkers
Ismael García Roque selló esta mañana en Casas Novas una victoria de esas que no tienen que esperar para ser celebradas. El canario, que salió a pista dos veces entre los 34 binomios participantes en el Trofeo Engel&Völkers, sentenció la prueba grande del CSI2* de hoy. Fue a lomos de Airline R, con quien arriesgó lo suficiente como para arrebatar la victoria a Paloma Jiménez-Carmona. El tiempo de Ismael, 26,71 segundos, mejoró los 27,38 de la andaluza con Sherie Star, que hasta el último instante parecía el binomio ganador. Tanto Ismael como Paloma vienen de hacer un gran CSI Santander, por lo que ya se aguardaba que llegasen fuertes a A Coruña.
Les siguieron, en un podio íntegramente español, José Fumero -también canario- y Vicomte de La Cour, caballo de reciente adquisición para el jinete de Tenerife, que se quedaron a solo 3 centésimas de igualar el tiempo de Paloma, y Jorge Juárez, con Coocanusa y 28,30 segundos en el crono. El cuarto puesto fue también para García Roque, en este caso con Iron Man 111 y 27,77 segundos.
Con este trofeo, el CSI2* finaliza por hoy y deja espacio a las dos pruebas 4* del día: el Trofeo Eurostars, a dos fases con obstáculos de 1,50 metros, a las 15:00 horas, y el Trofeo Massimo Dutti, que se decidirá al desempate con alturas de 1,45 metros y en el que el primer participante saldrá a pista a las 17:30.
Será el turno para ver en acción a jinetes y amazonas de renombre internacional, como Sergio Álvarez Moya, Gerardo Menéndez, Paola Amilibia, Aldrick Cheronnet, Julien Epaillard, Eric van der Vleuten o Samantha McIntosh, por destacar solo a algunos. Además, abrirán las casetas para que los asistentes puedan realizar sus apuestas. Como siempre en Casas Novas, los beneficios irán destinados a la Cocina Económica de A Coruña.
