Olympic Steve Guerdat's Horses, Already At Casas Novas

Close to 200 horses coming from all around the world have already arrived to Casas Novas in order to take part in the XXV International Jumping Show 5*/2*. Most of the 5* riders and horses have traveled directly from Geneva, where the Jumping World Cup took place last weekend, as Steve Guerdat, one of the best riders of the world and second at the Rolex Ranking from the FEI. Wednesday morning it has been possible to see some of this well known riders training indoor and stretching outside. Some of the first participants getting to Casas Novas were Gregory Wathelet (France); German, Ukrainian nationalized, Katharina Offel who won the Big Prix at Abu Dhabi, the latest one in the Global Champions Tour; Swiss Martin Fuchs, one of the best riders in history nephew, Markus Fuchs or the Olympic rider Edwina Tops-Alexander, winner at the Global Champions Tour 2011 and 2012. VET INSPECTION Every horses have to be at Casas Novas tomorrow at 3 p.m. in order to go under veterinary inspection. Horses are identified with a passport, which includes his vaccination, ID and important physical traits to be able to certify its identity. Along this vet check, they get assigned a number and horses have to pass different tests as a gallop line in order to identified a possible limp as well as to make sure that animals are getting treated properly. Furthermore, horses are not exempted from doping control which is made under veterinarian indications to any animal whose behaviour is uncommon, as well as to each winner horse, together with one participant chosen randomly.
